Entrepreneur, speaker, and author, Haris Reis shares his story about getting an internship with marketing guru Gary Vaynerchuk. How to Land an Internship with Gary Vaynerchuk?Getting an internship may seem like a daunting task. Where do you start? How do you get noticed, especially by someone as big as Gary Vaynerchuk? Yes, we’re talking about that guy, Gary Vee.Haris tells the story of how he took responsibility for his own success. Rather than settle for being a small fish in a big sea, he set out to make himself the big whale in a small puddle. We’ll tell you it involved a t-shirt and a whole lot of effort.Getting an Internship Story is More About Getting NoticedThis is not a “how to ask for an internship in person” kind of message. This is not a “how to find an internship for college students” kind of message either. We are sharing a story about tenacity, perseverance, and getting out of the rut of a comfort zone intentionally. The truth is that you create your own opportunity. You need to be responsible for how your life turns out. Your career, your marriage, and the raising of your children are in your hands. We hope this story from Haris inspires you and gets you fired up to get out of the rut you may be facing right now.Haris Reis BioWhile the title suggests our focus was all about Haris getting an internship with Gary Vee, here are some of his accomplishments since that experience.Since his internship at Vaynermedia as a growth hacker, Haris has become a two-time national award-winning entrepreneur, two-time national best-selling author, keynote speaker, and digital marketer. He co-founded Changing Lanes International, helping authors and speakers build their brands online, and built Syncsumo. This episode takes a look at how our diet impacts our performance at work and why we should eat healthy at work.Madison Radke BioWhile a sophomore in college, Madison had hit a physical rut. She was not in the peak performance that she once was when she played high school basketball. The “College Fifteen” had struck, and it wreaked havoc on her confidence.Through education on nutrition and fitness, she was able to work out of that rut and stay out of it. Madison now helps clients ages 18 through 80-plus years old to do the same. Her passion to help people includes working with registered nurses (RN’s) to eat healthy at work. After all, RNs spend eight to twelve hours on their feet helping sick people get well. The problem is they often eat junk food to fuel their bodies. It seems counter to the worst they do.Credentials for Madison Radke B.S. Exercise Science from Georgia College Certified Trainer - National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Nutrition Coach - Precision NutritionWhy Should You Eat Healthy at Work?We come across many people who find it difficult for eating healthy on the go. Their jobs require a lot of travel, and as a result, they dine out a lot. It may not be a matter of traveling for work. A busy American lifestyle is enough to convince ourselves that we are too busy to cook a healthy meal at home. The drive-through of the nearest fast food restaurant becomes a better, easier option.Maybe you find yourself in a similar rut to Madison’s. Instead of gaining the “College Fifteen,” is it more like you’ve gained forty pounds in your forties? If your energy levels are low at work, your body aches, you get sick a lot, then this is probably the episode for you.We want to share with you through Madison’s story that it is possible to eat healthy at work, at home, and anywhere else you may be. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be inspired to at least create a weekly lunch menu for yourself to take to work and turn that ship around.Links and ResourcesListen to this past episode on how Naturally Slim seems to eat what they want and stay slender and fit. Don’t let the clickbait title fool you. Marcia Upson, founder of NaturallySlim discusses some mind-blowing nutrition facts in this episode such as an eating healthy schedule. Also from the Beyond the Rut vault, episode 129 discusses eating clean with DeeAnna Heavilin.Visit Madison’s website for insights, tips, tricks, and online coaching at TrainWithMadison.com.Follow Madison Radke on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.Connect with UsSubscribe on iTunes (Apple Podcasts), Spotify, Stitcher, or iHeartRadio and never miss an episode.Twitter @beyondtherutFacebook Beyond the RutEmail info@beyondtherut.comMusic Attribution“Oceans Apart” is our theme song composed and performed by Scott Ian Holmes.Go to BeyondTheRut.com/capsho for your free 14-day trial and see for yourself. Grief can be a debilitating rut if we allow it. Author and blogger Lisa Reck discusses the healing power of gratitude.Lisa Reck BioLisa Reck is an author, blogger, and coach helping people navigate through their pain to live their best life today. Her book titled Breaking Through the Storm: Transform Pain into Power Through Gratitude and Forgiveness shares the story of the tragic loss of her older brother. She is a wife and mother living on the East Coast of the United States. By day, she is Director of Communications with a large dance photography company. Her passion is to help those who may be stuck in a rut of not living out their own dreams. The Break Through Academy is a six-week course and community to help people gain clarity in life, and create a vision that is driven by gratitude. The Healing Power of GratitudeTragedy ripped apart Lisa’s family and created ripple effects that lasted for decades and spanned generations. Lisa’s story shows us that choosing an attitude of gratitude and forgiving those who have hurt us allows us to heal and move forward in life. We were not meant to wallow in our ruts of grief. That pain is meant only for a season.Choosing gratitude and forgiveness is not easy, and it takes time. You may feel like you are betraying the memory of a loved one by not keeping yourself in a state of pain. The reality is your loved one probably did not want you to hold yourself back, but the opposite. Your loved ones probably wanted you to live your best life now in honor and memory of the time you had with them.Holding onto bitterness is like taking poison and hoping the other person dies. Forgiveness is the antidote. Choosing gratitude every day is choosing to live.Links and ResourcesListen to this past episode on how adopting an Attitude of Gratitude can Change Your World.Read Lisa’s book, Breaking Through the Storm: Transform Pain into Power Through Gratitude and Forgiveness.Visit Lisa’s website and blog at LisaReck.com.Connect with UsSubscribe on iTunes (Apple Podcasts), Spotify, Stitcher, or iHeartRadio and never miss an episode.Twitter @beyondtherutFacebook Beyond the RutEmail info@beyondtherut.comMusic Attribution“Oceans Apart” is our theme song composed and performed by Scott Ian Holmes.Go to BeyondTheRut.com/capsho for your free 14-day trial and see for yourself.
